Appointments

Standard appointments are 15 minutes. It is not always possible to deal with multiple problems in that time. If you think you will need more than 15 minutes, please book a longer appointment (this may incur an extra fee).
For routine and non-urgent appointments, we recommend booking online a week or two in advance to ensure a time and date that suits you with your regular GP. If you need urgent care on the day and are not able to find a time that suits you, please call us on (03) 3725190.

Policies

Missed Appointments:
In the event of missed appointments, or cancellation within 2 hours of the appointment time, a non-attendance fee (DNA) may be charged to your account. We understand sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances you may run late or must cancel your appointment. We kindly ask that you give us a call to let us know as soon as possible.

Test results:
We will contact patients regarding significant or clinically abnormal results. We do not routinely contact patients with normal results, but are happy for you to phone our nursing team to confirm your results.

Repeat prescriptions:

If the doctor has agreed to repeat prescriptions without the need for a consultation, please allow two working days to process your request.  Repeat prescriptions are only available for stable medical conditions which have had medication previously prescribed by one of our doctors. Unless previously agreed, you must have been seen for this condition in the past 6 months. Faxed and urgent same-day prescriptions incur an additional fee. In order to provide the best standard of care, the doctor may decline a request for a repeat prescription without a review consultation.

Please note – No drugs of addiction/dependence will be prescribed. This is for your safety and ours.

Payment can be made to our bank account: 01-0797-0951064-000
Use NHI as reference

Payment:

Payment is required at the time of consultation. Please discuss with us if you are having financial difficulties as we may be able to help.

Feedback:

We welcome and rely on patient feedback so we can improve our service. If you want to give feedback about any aspect of our clinical services you can do so by emailing us at – feedback@inspirehealth.co.nz

GENERATIVE AI - ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Inspire Health uses generative AI to assist with transcribing patient consults. This is not used for diagnosis, it is limited to a summary of your consult with your provider. The tool allows us to focus entirely on you during the consult, the clinician does not need to type or take notes, they can listen, assess and diagnose more efficiently while focusing on you, not their keyboard.

Do I have to consent?

Of course not, the choice is yours.

Who has access to my medical information?

Only your clinician, our AI tool is compliant with the Privacy Act 2020 and the New Zealand Information Privacy Principles. The information management system used is ISO27001 accredited for data security. Your data protection is our priority.

Where is your data stored?

All data is encrypted, securely and confidentially stored temporarily on cloud servers, adhering to high industry standards. Due to cloud infrastructure limitations within NZ, the data is processed on Australian cloud servers. During your consult the conversation is transcribed and summarized at the end. The recordings are not stored and the notes are deleted after 7 days. The summary is pasted into our patient management system against your record as a normal consult note. Your personal details are safe, whilst your name might be used, your last name, DOB and NHI number are not typically used in a consult, meaning the notes generated do not contain sensitive information about you.

Why do we use generative AI?

Time saving, efficiency, attention and detail. With your clinician able to focus on you without having to type notes whilst listening, they can be more efficient, listen to you, assess you, and diagnose. The system then provides a summary that the clinician has to read and approve before pasting into your records. Nothing is forgotten, assessments and plans are agreed with you and your 15 minute consult is best used for consulting with you instead of writing notes
