What is a Health Improvement Practitioner?
A Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP) is a registered
health professional who provides brief, evidence-based interventions to support
individuals with mental and physical health concerns, particularly within
general practice teams. They help individuals make positive changes to
their health and wellbeing, focusing on behaviors and lifestyles
HIPs work within general practice teams, offering support to patients alongside other healthcare professionals like GPs and nurses.
HIPs provide short-term, targeted interventions to address specific health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, smoking cessation, or improving lifestyle habits.
HIPs can help individuals develop new skills and strategies to change behaviors that impact their health and wellbeing.
